展覧会「AT HOME」ご案内
今回は階段のある風景を中心に新作15点あまりを展示します。今回の制作を通じて作家は「家が人格を持ち始め、家という体内において階段とは、ある場所と場所を有機的につなぐ臓器のよう、艶かしい存在」と語っています。階段に導かれ迷い込む、ある一軒の家からはじまる物語をお楽しみください。
坂本佳子という作家、その作品について
坂本佳子氏（以下、作家）との交流は、作家が1993年多摩美術大学院修了直後に開催した当画廊での個展から始まり、今日に至ります。この長い年月の中で、作家の一貫したテーマは、景色ではなく、”空間を可視化する”という事だと私なりに理解しています。その表現のモチーフはいずれも景色である事も一貫しており、作家は遠く様々な土地へスケッチ旅行にも出向きます。しかしながら作家の視覚を通して、私達が結果的に目にするものは、いわゆる風景画とは異なり、複雑な画面となって現れます。最終的には、時間、距離、移動、境界線等、異次元の重層の狭間で見える風景なのではないか？という問いに到達します。混沌とした画面は異質な色、形、質感で構成されており、一見雑然とした画面でありながら、細部に渡り気の抜けない作家の筆致が見え、丹念に制作していることが伝わってきます。皆様のご高覧をいただければ幸いに存じます。

Keiko Sakamoto Exhibition“AT HOME”
This exhibition will feature approximately 15 new works, focusing on landscapes with staircases. Through this creation process, the artist has shared her thoughts:
“As a house begins to take on a personality, the staircase within it acts like an organ, organically connecting different spaces—an alluring presence.”
We invite you to immerse yourself in the story that unfolds, beginning with a house where one is guided and lost within its staircases.
About the Artist, Keiko Sakamoto, and Her Works
My connection with Keiko Sakamoto (hereafter referred to as “the artist”) dates back to her solo exhibition at our gallery in 1993, right after she completed her master’s program at Tama Art University. Over these many years, I have come to understand that her consistent artistic theme is not about depicting scenery but rather about visualizing space.Despite this focus, the motifs she chooses are consistently landscapes. The artist embarks on sketching journeys to distant and various locations. However, what we ultimately see through her perspective is not a conventional landscape painting but rather a complex and layered composition.
In the end, her work leads us to question:
“Are these scenes emerging from the intersections of different dimensions—time, distance, movement, and boundaries?”Her intricate compositions consist of diverse colors, shapes, and textures, appearing chaotic at first glance. Yet, within this seemingly disordered canvas, one can observe the artist’s meticulous brushwork, demonstrating a deep commitment to her craft.We sincerely hope you will take the time to view and appreciate this exhibition.
